Katharine Love is a textile artist based in the seaside town of Deal, on the Kent coast. Living by the sea has been the biggest influence on her work, with Herring gulls, sailing boats and days at the beach being the most common themes.
Katharine uses mainly recycled fabrics and works with simple embroidery stitches and patchwork techniques to create textile pictures that capture life at the coast.
Katharine studied ceramics and textiles at Manchester Metropolitan University, graduating in 1994. She exhibits her work locally in galleries across Kent and is a regular participant in SEAS Open Studios.
